Construction Trade Scholarships

The Jay Lebel Trades Scholarship was created to encourage entry into a career in the trades through mentoring, needed certifications, or purchasing of tools. Last year we raised over $10,000 and selected 3 candidates to support along with retail partners: Mountain Hardware & Sports, Truckee-Tahoe Lumber Co, and MEEK’s Lumber & Hardware.

Because of the generous donations given by members at the 2021 and 2022 CATT Holiday Party, three scholarships were awarded to individuals entering the construction trades. Scholarships were awarded to graduating high school students from Truckee High School and South Lake Tahoe.  We also awarded an adult who is joining the building and construction workforce.

Each was awarded $600 for tools purchased at a discount with our member sponsors: Meek's Lumber & Hardware, Mountain Hardware and Sports, Sierra Mountain Supply, and Truckee Tahoe Lumber and Design Center.

Applications for 2023-2024 awards will be available in the spring. Thanks to all those who have donated.
